crap and capping

well here I am again, and today I'm going to tel you about the last couple days. Ok so my first day up was Wednesday, bright side the car runs great. made it all the way up here got great gas mileage it's loud but she gets from A-B and back to A (so far). I got up here and we started cleaning out the basement of all the sheetrock that was laying around down there. then I left and went to visit Grace and Ashley with Dubs and Josh. That was an alrght time, I got to play black barbera. then Dubs and I rolled back into Minneapolis at around 2 and when David left me and JJ jumped back into the basement. Because the meter dude was coming on Thursday between 12-4. So we went to work crimping and supporting and making the water main suitable for the meter, but we couldn't get it all finished so we went to bed at around 4:30.

SO now it's Thursday and we got out of bed with nerves and excitement and some anxiety to meet the meterdude and see what he said and to see if he could hook us up. So we did all the last minut finishes and we waited. tummy's rumblin' we sat and we waited for him. He showed up his name was Kirk. He was a funny guy and he is, like Jeremiah, also allergic to bees so they talked epi-pen's for awhile. But overall Kirk came down and told us that he can't hook us up with a meter because we need Mechanical fittings and we can't have any solder joints before the meter. So we asked if he could come back in like 1hour and he said he still had like 4 meters to install and he wouldn't have time. So we went and got the parts we needed (hopefully) and we ran out to Mickey D's. JJ had the best Double Cheeseburger he has ever had in his life. (sad note that was one of the highlights of our day.) We tried calling to set-up an appointment for a meter but they weren't having any. But we had some goals to accomplish on that day and we weren't going to stop because nothing was going our way. SO we jumped back in the horses saddle and rode like the wind first we thought we would go and double check that we didn't need any other parts for the plumbing and cha-ching it looks pretty good. However on the way there we thought we would take 100 south but as it would turn out you have to take the shingle creek exit to get on to HWY 100 so we ended up in places we have never been before. FRustrated as a mule we kept pushing because before the end of the day something had to go our way...so we kept on pushing and we saw Best buy but missed the exit so we said awh...we'll just get off at the next exit and we did. But there was something about the Roads in MN that just don't make any sense. So there we are in the little red rider and lost some where we have never been and as we just continue to get frustrated we both reach our boiling points and just blow-up(ish). JJ and I had so much fun with the next 25 minutes. As we drove around we were so frustrated that all we could do was laugh and so we did. and we made jokes and laughed some more. Then we found it, best buy, it was a cool cup of water on a hot desert day. we went in that store and we saw the vaccuum cleaners and we walked back there and there it was!!! BOO_YA!!! You have some days where everything goes right, then you have the days when one thing goes right. and yesterday was a one thing day.

Needless to say here I sit on Friday with crap to do, but we are still fricken waterless and the only time we can get in is thursday september 4th. The biggest problem is that we can't poop or shower at this point and it is gross and we would like to clean up and stuff, so if anyone happens to know a meterdude in Minneapolis send him to 2718 Colfax Ave N. thanks.

me and my people

hey hey,

Ok so I hung out with a friend that I haven't spent a lot of time with since school has been out and now things are weird. It's like I don't know anything about them and things feel awkward. Seriously no doubt that it was the most awkward dinner I've had all year. in conversation the idea came up of belonging to a crowd. one example was having a set of friends but then leaving them because you fit in better with a different crowd, and I think that is exactly the reason why things were awkward in the first place. We both felt like we didn't belong. Both of us have changed so much even just in the time between graduation and now, that we don't belong. Looking at it I see it in myself, I had great friends with great relationships, but I had more than one group of friends, and then when I got back from summer camp then the youth group peeps were my new crowd. So I left my "lack-o-christ" friends, it feels like as I grow close to God I leave the people that I used to care about behind and I know that they can come, and I've talked to them, but I can't make a decision for them and it sucks to see people that I felt for and cried for and just watch them as we walk away from each other. I want to be able to be everyone's friend, I want to say no to people so that I can be with other people, If I'm a house for Jesus' love then shouldn't I be spreading it with people that don't know it just as much as I am with the friends who do??? Now I've almost guilted my way into feeling like a crappy friend. Like it's all my fault that life sepperates me from the people I love. I just don't like it.

Moving and new info

Hey ya'll,
So there was some poor communication between me and Jess and Mitch so I came home to help load up Nate's box van and then Jess said that she was riding back up with Nate and I thought I was going to be so there was some tension there. But everything worked out fine and I got to stay in town and spend a little more time with some of "my people".

But later that night when Jess and Nate showed up to drop off Mine and Jeremiahs stuff some of the neighbor kids saw them hauling stuff in and then they asked, "can we help?" and they said, 'sure." So the first real interaction with the neighbor kids I wasn't even a part of, but it sounds like they we super cute and had a blast. One kid said, "moving people is my favorite thing to do" then Jess asked if they do it often and the girl responded "nope, this is my first time." Then Jess and Nate left and so it was just Jeremiah and the kids and they went down and the kids helped Jeremiah remove the sheet rock in the basement, and later that night Jeremiah called and said "I hope you don't mind I gave them your graham crackers, they said they wanted some."

Now we were basically ready to move on from the plumbing, but right before we finished we saw that we needed a water meter, and there wasn't one in the house. So JJ called up the city and the city said that we need to have some one come and install it and that the next available time is going to be Thursday the 28th, and so we are supposed to be living in the house for about 4 days without running water. ICKY!!! We got a new boiler and I support that decision more now that Jeremiah told me the last time it was checked was 1950. and the new boiler is supposed to be about 30% more efficient. We have an issue though, we have a huge boiler in the basement that needs to be removed, and talking to Jeremiah it sounds like it is going to be quite the process. So we're hoping it will go easier than we think it is going to.

But that's kind of an update for now.I'll probably have some more on Wednesday or maybe sooner who knows.

first post...What'chu think?

Hey everybody,
Me and JJ are in the house and have been working hard. So far the plumbing is still not ready but hopefully tomorrow everything will be intact and the water will be flowing. We have had a blast downstairs tracking all the pipes to see which are water and which are gas, and then you have to find the main water source and then separate the hot from the cold. After a few trips to menards and hours of work we have everything lined up and with a few tweeks in theory we will be able to poop in our own toilet. :)

I met a guy on my first day in Minneapolis. His name was Uncle Stony. He is quite the character, he's a good guy or so he says. Uncle Stony came over and asked for 62 cents, and so I gave him a buck. He was just on his way home from work, but he needed 62 for something, and then he was going to go home and wait for his boss to bring by his check. But I think that I made a good contact with Uncle Stony because "everyone knows who I am just ask them...I'm Uncle Stoney...I'm a good guy, I'm a really good guy, ask anyone they'll tell you that Uncle Stoney's a good guy." Well I didn't see uncle stony at all today, but tomorrow is another day. maybe tomorrow we will be moving more stuff up to the house and really begining to get the house feeling like home.
